About the role

As a Phlebotomist, you will obtain patients’ blood specimens through venipuncture, fingerstick or heelstick as appropriate, for the performance of requested tests. 
Perform phlebotomy following established procedures including all safety and infection control rules. 
Maintains positive patient identification during specimen collection. 
Communicates to nursing personnel or physician office relative patient information regarding collection.
Uses problem-solving to address any and all problems that arise and follow through with appropriate action.
Responds to work demands with very little or no errors and is able to perform the essential duties assigned independently. 
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of Absolutecare.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with proficiency in English language.
  • Ability to communicate within the team and work in a Patient Centered Model of Healthcare.
  • One to three years of experience preferred
  • Effective interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team required.
