Sr. AWS Cloud DevOPs Engineer – Indianola, PA

 

PURPOSE

We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. If you're passionate about cloud infrastructure, automation, and continuous improvement, this role is for you!

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and manage highly available, and scalable systems on Amazon Web Services (AWS);
• Collaborate with software architects to configure and deploy PaaS infrastructure, including identity and access management, network architecture, application security, logging, monitoring, and deployment;
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enhance the infrastructure delivery process;
• Optimize infrastructure efficiency, engineers' productivity, and reliability;
• Monitor applications, provide recommendations for automated improvements, and ensure best practices are followed;
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues promptly;
• Stay up to date with AWS services and industry trends;
• Utilize industry-standard tools and best practices to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management;
• Optimize and manage cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure;
• Monitor system performance and reliability, making improvements and optimizations where necessary;
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to efficiently troubleshoot issues across the entire stack;
• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to junior DevOps team members;
• Keep stakeholders, both onsite and remote, informed through effective communication.

 

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on AWS;
• Proficient in Terraform, Ansible, or similar infrastructure-ascode tools;
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, and development platforms such as GitHub;
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architecture;
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana);
• Deep knowledge of cloud computing concepts and experience with a major cloud provider (AWS or Azure).

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-7 years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on AWS;
• Python or PowerShell scripting languages.
