<p><strong>Mission Statement</strong></p>

<p><strong>Religious Statement</strong></p>
<p>Although this position does not require or confer ordination, this position is considered a “ministry position” as it incorporates faith-based programming. A Uniform wearing Salvationists with a demonstrated strong personal faith and agreement with the teaching of Holy Christian Scripture as explained in The Salvation Army “Articles of War” and the “Handbook of Doctrine” are required for this position. Due to the scope of oversight for the position, inability, or unwillingness to maintain a lifestyle and witness consistent with the above stated documents will be grounds for termination.</p>
<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p>
<p>The purpose of this position is to oversee Corps church ministry and programming, as directed by the Corps Officer(s), in the fulfillment of The Salvation Army’s mission and oversee outreach programs in the greater Long Beach area.</p>
<p><strong>Pay Range</strong></p>
<p>$68,000/yr. - $73,000/yr.</p>
<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p>
<p><strong>Corps Ministry Programs</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead, develop, and implement church programming under the direction of the Corps officer.</li>
<li>Provide biblically sound, engaging, and spiritually enriching messages/teachings that support the Corps' mission and discipleship efforts.</li>
<li>Coordinate worship services, program, praise team, singing company, and Corps music ministries, ensuring all elements are organized and prepared.</li>
<li>Keep and submit statistical information, reported monthly.</li>
<li>Keep corps member contact information updated and current, ensuring electronic databases and printed records reconcile, and that visitors are moved to Recruits roll when necessary.</li>
<li>Ensure all program participants have Release waivers on file yearly, and that contact information is maintained as noted above.</li>
<li>Ensure all High Awards are pursued and applied for. Keep records and complete applications for such. These would include, but not limited to, Christian Education, Outreach, and Discipleship programs.</li>
<li>Maintain calendar of events, ensuring invitations and reminders are sent accordingly, through appropriate means of communication.</li>
<li>Ensure all PTM (Protect the Mission) standards are being upheld in all faith-based programming.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Community Outreach</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Follow-up with visitors.</li>
<li>Oversee overnight summer camping program registration, logistics, and coordination with families.</li>
<li>Regularly promote and coordinate registration with faith-based programs and events.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Seasonal Activities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Christmas programming (Kettles, Angel Tree, Community Events, Congregational Events, etc.)</li>
<li>Summer programming (Camps, Summer Day Camp, Divisional/Territorial Retreats, etc.)</li>
<li>Fall programming (Back to school, Rallies, CCM, etc.)</li>
<li>Other seasonal programming as directed by the Corps Officer</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Leadership & Training</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Recruit, train, disciple, and encourage all volunteers, staff and leaders who assist in faith-based programming.</li>
<li>Maintain records of all leaders and local officer positions, ensuring warrants and commissions are submitted to DHQ via the Corps Officer.</li>
<li>Provide leaders/volunteers with programming resources and adequate supplies for programs and coordinate with office staff for refiling.</li>
<li>Attend, promote and assist with Divisional and Territorial events as directed.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Reporting & Other</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ensure all necessary statistics and reports for corps programs are compiled and submitted accordingly.</li>
<li>Oversee financial aspects of Corps ministry programing (i.e. fee collection, reconciliations, registration payments, etc.)</li>
<li>Report on all property repairs or damage to the facility manager immediately.</li>
<li>All other responsibilities assigned.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Communication</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>To enhance communication with the Corps Officers a regular meeting will occur in addition to staff meetings.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p>
<p>Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.</p>
