POSITION OVERVIEW

DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a Senior Military Operations Analyst to serve as the Task Lead for Certification and Evaluation support to the USASMDC G37 Division. This role provides direct support to Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) certification and readiness evaluations, leading a team of analysts and subject matter experts. The Task Lead will coordinate certification planning, oversee execution of brigade-level external evaluations (EXEVALs), and contribute to development of CONOPs, OPLANs, and contingency training programs. The ideal candidate brings deep operational knowledge of GMD, ARSST, and MDB mission sets, and experience with strategic and joint operational planning across Combatant Commands.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the Certification and Evaluation Team supporting the USASMDC G37 Division with a focus on Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) readiness assessments.
  • Coordinate certification planning activities and facilitate external evaluations (EXEVALs) for subordinate units including the 100th Missile Defense Brigade and ARSST teams.
  • Support the development and refinement of CONOPs, OPLANs, and CONPLANs across space and missile defense mission sets.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on missile defense doctrine, strategic deterrence, and Combatant Command operational integration.
  • Participate in planning conferences and training exercises supporting evaluation criteria for mission success and standards compliance.
  • Supervise analysts supporting assessments and provide technical feedback on system-level performance across GMD assets.
  • Contribute to lessons learned development, formal external assessments, and improvement of certification processes for radar and sensor teams.
  • Lead the Certification and Evaluation Team supporting USASMDC G37's Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) certification program.
  • Plan and coordinate brigade-level evaluations (EXEVALs) and readiness assessments for GMD and space mission units.
  • Develop and support the execution of CONOPs, OPLANs, and CONPLANs related to missile defense and space operations.
  • Provide expert strategic and operational assessments for GMD, MDB, and ARSST mission sets, contributing to command-level readiness evaluations.
  • Participate in planning conferences and exercises related to certification and validation of mission capabilities.
  • Supervise analysts and task contributors; ensure technical accuracy, schedule adherence, and quality of all deliverables.
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders including Combatant Commands to align certification processes with joint operational standards.
  • Prepare formal assessment reports, readiness briefs, and decision-support products in support of the USASMDC Standards and Evaluations Program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant operational and planning experience in missile defense, space operations, or joint strategic assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading certification and evaluation efforts for missile defense systems, particularly GMD.
  • Experience coordinating with Combatant Commands, USASMDC, and other joint stakeholders.
  • Active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as National Security, Strategic Studies, or Operations Research.
  • Experience supporting USASMDC, USSPACECOM, or STRATCOM in a task lead or senior analyst capacity.
  • Prior military experience with operational missile defense units (e.g., 100th Missile Defense Brigade).
