Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving maximum product sales and profitability within a designated territory, with a primary focus on capital and device product portfolios. This role involves managing all aspects of territory performance, including product sales, in-service support, general business operations, and accurate record keeping. The successful candidate will maintain up-to-date knowledge of Olympus products and the broader healthcare industry to achieve sales targets while adhering to Olympus’ policies and procedures.

 

Job Duties

  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of the assigned business, including product lines, business objectives, pricing strategies, and effective sales techniques for associated products.
  • Builds, develops, and maintains professional relationships with key customers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and other decision-makers in assigned accounts.
  • Meets or exceeds sales targets for products within assigned business areas.
  • Conducts training programs at customer accounts, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), and clinics.
  • Establishes and fosters positive relationships with personnel and healthcare professionals at target institutions, including teaching hospitals.
  • Develops and maintains sales in accounts under regional or national buying group contracts.
  • Collaborates with marketing product managers on field projects, such as test markets, market surveys, product evaluations, and competitive research.
  • Maintains clear and consistent communication with both field and internal sales management, focusing on the development of strategic business plans, sales activities, follow-ups, market potential, and recommendations for pricing or promotional strategies.
  • Supports major national conventions and local/regional meetings as determined by sales management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support business objectives.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or equivalent sales/business experience.
  • Two (2) years of prior sales or marketing experience is required.
  • Prior sales or marketing experience with medical devices or within a hospital medical environment.
  • Establishes, develops or maintains field contact with key customers, clinicians and researchers, and other decision makers in assigned accounts including travel to customer facilities and onsite support.
  • Employees must adhere to all customer vendor credentialing requirements when visiting medical facilities.
  • Ability to travel within territory daily.
  • Occasional need and ability to travel outside territory within region.
  • Overnight stays will be necessary.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (may include some weekends and evenings).
  • Must have a valid drivers license. 

 

Preferred:

  • Proven track record of success.
  • A specialized knowledge of human anatomy physiology and related diseases of the body where Olympus products might be utilized is preferred.
  • Must possess basic computer skills (MS Office)
