Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Day shift / Evening shift / Monday–Friday, Weekends.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team for both day and night shifts. The CWI will be responsible for inspecting welds, ensuring compliance with AWS, ASME, and company standards, and maintaining high-quality fabrication processes. The ideal candidate must have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of welding processes, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds to verify compliance with AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and other applicable codes.
  • Conduct welding procedure and welder performance qualification testing.
  • Interpret and review engineering drawings, WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), and PQR (Procedure Qualification Records).
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) such as VT (Visual Testing) and coordinate RT, UT, MT, and PT inspections as required.
  • Identify weld defects, discontinuities, and non-conformances, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work closely with welders, engineers, and quality teams to improve welding quality and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company welding procedures.
  • Maintain and update welding inspection reports and quality records.
  • Assist in audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Certification: Active AWS CWI certification (required).
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of welding inspection experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction.
Knowledge of Codes & Standards: Strong understanding of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, API 1104, and other industry standards.
Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, P&IDs, and technical documents.
Inspection Tools: Proficiency in using fillet gauges, calipers, micrometers, hardness testers, and NDT equipment.
Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaborating with teams.
Flexibility: Willing to work night shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Additional Certifications (Preferred): ASNT Level II (RT, UT, PT, MT)
