About the role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager/Training Manager to lead our hotel’s training efforts, meeting luxury hotel standards. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and administering comprehensive training that aligns with Marriott Luxury Brands and FORBES 5 Star Training Standards. Your primary focus will be support to the HR Office, identifying training needs, utilizing the relevant programs, and assessing their impact on employee performance and guest loyalty. As an HR Manager/Training Manager, you will collaborate with various departments to ensure employees receive the necessary training to excel in their roles and contribute to the overall success of the hotel as a luxury property. Successful candidates for this position typically have backgrounds in business, leadership, human resources, human development, or education. Your responsibilities will include enhancing employee skills, improving performance, increasing productivity, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development throughout the hotel. By overseeing our training initiatives, you will play a vital role in driving employee growth and ensuring the achievement of our business goals.
Responsibilities
• Administrative support to human resources office.
• Identify and assess current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with line managers
• Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations
• Deploy a wide variety of training methods
• Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions
• Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
• Track and monitor compliance and provide opportunities for ongoing development
• Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
• Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices, particularly within the hospitality industry
• Proven work experience as a Training Manager
• Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
• Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
• Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals
• Good computer and database skills
HR Strategy Engagement
• Implement and facilitate employee training and development programs that support performance improvement and career growth.
• Foster a people-first culture that drives growth, supports retention, and enhances the overall employee experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Leadership
• The role will report directly to the Director of HR, ensuring alignment with company-wide HR practices, policies, and compliance standards.
• In addition, the HR/Training Manager willcollaborate with the Leadership team to support compliance, workforce planning, and sustainable growth, particularly during hotel acquisitions and transitions. Aligning HR strategy with property performance, culture and operational goals.

Qualifications
• 3+ years' experience as an HR Manager within hospitality in New York City hotel environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll software, and talent management tools.
Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills; ability to consult with and advise leadership.
