What this job involves: We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician with specialized expertise in boiler systems to join our facilities management team. In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the maintenance, repair, and optimization of HVAC systems with particular emphasis on boiler operations and management.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial boilers including hot water, steam, and condensing systems
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of boiler systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with boiler equipment and related HVAC components
- Monitor and maintain water treatment systems for boilers to prevent scale formation and corrosion
- Perform combustion analysis and adjust to ensure maximum boiler efficiency
- Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities, repairs, and system parameters
- Respond to emergency calls for boiler system failures and implement appropriate solutions
- Collaborate with the facilities team on energy conservation initiatives and system upgrades
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies necessary for boiler and HVAC system maintenance
- Perform general building maintenance duties including but not limited to plumbing, lighting, fixture and hardware installation, preventative upkeep, and responding to facility service requests to ensure proper functioning of building systems and equipment.
Work Schedule
- First shift on-site position
- Rotating On Call Availability Required
Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
- EPA certification (Universal preferred)
- Boiler operator license or certification a plus
- 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC maintenance with specialized knowledge of boiler systems
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in HVAC systems required
- Thorough understanding of hot water, steam, and condensing boiler systems
- Experience with building automation systems and energy management controls
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of water chemistry and treatment methods for boiler systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Work in various environments including mechanical rooms, confined spaces, and rooftops
- Climb ladders and work at heights when necessary
- Stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods

Estimated total compensation for this position:
