What You Will Do

Provide support to Manufacturing Engineers (ME) for improving first pass yield using Quality metrics and MRL elements such as PFMEA, Control Plan & Gage R&R as needed. ME Intern will be responsible for supporting senior full time ME(s) for the entire manufacturing value stream of a specific part or part family. The scope of this role will include PW internal shop and may also include supply chain support components on the assigned part family.

Responsibilities (In support of Product/Process ME):

  • Direct support to the manufacturing shop floor and drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple process steps that span the full value stream of the parts.
  • Help Troubleshoot and Resolve Operation Shop floor issues for various manufacturing processes by providing technical input
  • Help Perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming products using statistical analysis tools and other methods as necessary.
  • Help Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes, increase throughput and reduce overall product costs.
  • Help ME work with senior management for risk escalation and risk mitigation plans
  • Help ME Communicate lessons learned by other operational organizations for read across implementation.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Enrolled in a degree program studying Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials Science and Engineering.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in using any statistical analysis software (ex. Excel, Minitab)
  • Experience in any CAD/CAM Software
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
