About the role
Job Duties:
- Assess each admission for appropriate unit placement based on documentation in medical record.
- Follow direct admit process for seamless patient admissions from the clinic.
- Make quick decisions to provide safe transfers throughout the hospital, including immediate needs of floor patients transferring to ICU for a higher level of care.
- Provide patient care as needed to assist with throughput.
- Assist physically as needed to help transfer or admit patients to improve throughput.
- Notify House Supervisor of 1:1 needs immediately for staffing considerations when placing a patient with the following in orders:(6404, 6401, & sitters for safety)
- Any other tasks requested by House Supervisor, Sr. Director of Nursing, or other designated person in charge.
- Collaborate with multiple teams of management to make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with House Supervisor or other management when concerns of throughput arise.
- Coordinate with House Supervisor throughout the day about any staffing challenges to be aware of for current and next shifts.
- Use multiple line system for physician collaboration to provide timely direct admits from other facilities.
- Attend scheduled bed huddles daily, providing pertinent information and concerns about patient throughput.
- Be thorough and meticulous in documentation of events on throughput.
- Provide patient placement metrics monthly on throughput as decided by throughput team.
- Maintain Daily Bed Log.
- Any other requests approved by Director of Nursing.
- High School Diploma (Equivalent)
- Associate degree in nursing from an accredited and approved nursing program.
- Bachelor’s in nursing degree preferred or higher
Experience:
- Three years of acute care experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Bed Management experience preferred.
- BLS
- ACLS-within 60 days of hire.
- CPI-within 30 days of hire.
