About the role
- The Global Director of Procurement role is responsible for setting the vision and plan for the Howmet Wheel Systems (HWS) Procurement organization in alignment with BU priorities and objectives. They are responsible for leading the team to successfully deliver quarterly, annual and long-term objectives within the guidelines set forth in Howmet’s ethical and compliance standards, while complying with the Howmet Global Procurement Process Manual (GPPM).
- The overall goal is to achieve the best total cost position while maximizing free cash flow and minimizing supply chain risk.
- The person in this role must be able to lead the identification, implementation and execution of best-in-class procurement processes and procedures to ensure successful achievement of short & long-term objectives.
- This position will report directly to the Vice President Finance, HWS.
Major Responsibilities:
- Achieve BU and Regional Procurement Targets quarterly and annually.
- On-time Contract Completion with best possible result
- Net price reduction in key categories; metal, MRO/SER/ROL, OSP machine and polish
- Cost per wheel; MRO, SER, ROL
- Weighted Average Payment Terms (WAPT)
- Audit score of Good (4) or better across all locations
- Compliance with GPPM across all locations
- Actively participate as a key member of the Howmet Wheels team in monthly and quarterly reviews.
- Develop strategies to achieve objectives and represent the procurement teams performance
- Attract, retain and develop a procurement team can deliver the BU objectives for Procurement.
- Establish the vision for the Procurement team and cascade aligned goals to the team.
- Build strong alliances with key cross functional leaders and their teams including finance, operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, EHS and legal.
- Break down barriers for team to help the BU achieve objectives.
- Continually innovate to ensure the Procurement team is leveraging the best tools and processes
- Work with the commercial sales organization as needed to ensure that supplier contracts align with commercial programs as applicable and are aligned with the term of the agreements placed with our customers
- Actively participate in the review and approval of all strategic supply agreements and all supply agreements over $4M in total value.
- Be the escalation point for all procurement contracts or supplier disputes.
Basic:
- Minimum 10 years previous management experience in a manufacturing company with negotiations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred:
- MBA in Business, Business Administration, Economics or Finance.
- Minimum 15 years previous work experience in a manufacturing company with negotiations experience.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to lead and work in a team environment driving to a common goal.
- Customer-oriented with strong business acumen.
