Job Description

QAD is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist for French market. In this role, you will be focused on supporting QAD’s organization in France on People Services matters with a strong focus on managing labor relations and HR compliance. As part of your role, you will also be responsible for the regular cooperation with the French work council. Through investigation, analysis, advice, and consultation, you will be managing and troubleshooting complex HR, employee related matters. If you are experienced in French labor law and have previous experience in cooperation with the French work council this is the role for you!    

The position is remote from Spain or Poland with the ability to travel to Strasbourg from time to time. This role may be a full time or a part time opportunity.

  • Be the first point of contact for employees and managers regarding employee relations and day-to-day people management matters in France. Additionally provide HR support to QAD’s organization in Belgium 
  • Support employees and managers with complex issue resolution throughout the employee life cycle (e.g. hiring, onboarding/offboarding, life and work events, local audits, government reporting, policy, and compliance)
  • Review, listen and drive action-based response and solutions based on employee feedback, regional leadership needs, and company priorities
  • Conduct issue investigations as required and per French local labor law expectations
  • Conduct exit interviews for terminated employees and provide feedback to Business HR and departmental management regarding trends/issues revealed in exit interviews
  • Partner with Business HR and the COEs to ensure global strategies include the perspective of your countries and the region as they are designed
  • Ensure compliance and consistent application of HR policies and guidelines, maintain awareness and knowledge of local legislation, and provide suitable interpretation to employees and managers within the organization

Qualifications

  • Professional degree: Degree and/or specialized professional training in human resources, law with the specialization in French labor law
  •  3+ years of experience in employee relations area, compliance and previous experience in cooperating with work councils in France
  • Highly emotionally intelligent with exceptional interpersonal skills - build relationships and trust easily at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to proactively identify and solve problems using carefully planned investigation and research, data analysis, and structured problem-solving methods
  • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks, including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management for France  
  • Highly proficient in managing emotions and difficult situations, always leveraging a balance of empathy and objectivity.
  • Ability to meet regular deadlines and handle stressful situations with flexibility. 
  • Ability to prepare written communication (memos, emails and presentations) to document and summarize issues as well as present data-driven analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Know how to research applicable employment and labor laws and government compliance requirements and readily access external experts as needed.
  • Exhibit responsiveness, tact, diplomacy, good judgment and confidentiality in communications with all parties.  
  • Unquestionable ethical approach to managing privacy and psychological safety.  
  • Strong written and verbal English and French language communication skills. 
  • Positive team player and collaborator.
