Since 2018, AniCura has been a part of Mars Veterinary Health, a family-owned company focused on veterinary care.<br/></p><p><strong>Role Overview:</strong></p><p>As a <strong>Senior Accountant</strong>, you will be responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting for the Swedish legal entities within AniCura Sweden Holding. Your role includes monthly and periodic group and statutory reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, VAT reporting, and supporting internal and external audits. You’ll ensure compliance with Swedish GAAP and AniCura’s accounting principles and support continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>1. Group &amp; Statutory Reporting</strong></p><ul> <li>Execute all periodic and monthly reporting tasks for Swedish legal entities in line with AniCura and Mars reporting frameworks.</li> <li>Prepare group and statutory financial reports in collaboration with the Accounting Manager.</li> <li>Support statutory and group audits, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.</li> </ul><p><strong>2. Balance Sheet Reconciliations &amp; Control</strong></p><ul> <li>Perform periodic and monthly bookings and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts in both primary and statutory ledgers.</li> <li>Maintain a high level of quality and integrity in reconciliations and documentation.</li> </ul><p><strong>3. Intercompany Transactions &amp; VAT</strong></p><ul> <li>Manage intercompany reconciliations and related transactions such as cross-charges, loans, and interest, in coordination with AniCura, Mars, and MVH International units.</li> <li>Perform monthly VAT reporting in accordance with Swedish GAAP and regulatory requirements.</li> </ul><p><strong>4. General Ledger &amp; Specialized Areas</strong></p><ul> <li>Book and reconcile MPI, Earn-outs, LTIP (Long Term Incentive Plan) transactions, and MVH International balances.</li> <li>Handle Fixed Assets bookings in both ledgers.</li> <li>Collaborate with and provide back-up support to the AP accountant as needed.</li> </ul><p><strong>5. Process Improvement &amp; Team Collaboration</strong></p><ul> <li>Contribute to process improvements in accounting routines and financial operations.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with cross-border teams and stakeholders across the organization.</li> </ul><p><strong>Summary of the Role:</strong></p><ul> <li><strong>Job Title</strong>: Senior Accountant</li> <li><strong>Department</strong>: AniCura Sweden Finance Team</li> <li><strong>Reports To</strong>: Head of Accounting Sweden</li> <li><strong>Location</strong>: Stockholm, Sweden</li> <li><strong>Contract</strong>: Full-time</li> <li><strong>Languages</strong>: Fluency in Swedish and English</li> <li><strong>Key Stakeholders</strong>: Finance, Group Accounting, AniCura markets, Mars Finance</li> </ul><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience:</strong></p><ul> <li>Academic degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.</li> <li>Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in an international setting.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of Swedish GAAP, including K3.</li> <li>Experience with group and statutory reporting, VAT returns, and annual reports.</li> <li>Experience with accounting systems (ERP), Oracle is a plus.</li> <li>Familiarity with US GAAP is a merit.</li> </ul><p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Expertise:</strong></p><ul> <li>Proficient in balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting.</li> <li>Solid understanding of GL, AP, AR, and subledger modules.</li> <li>Strong organizational and time management skills.</li> <li>High proficie
