Job Description

The experimental characterization of materials under several environmental conditions requires big measurement campaigns consisting of different parameter configurations and experimental procedures. In order to use the acquired data for further investigations or conclusions, it is of utmost importance to verify the quality and validity of the gathered data. Obviously, this task becomes very challenging for a human especially for large data sets. For that purpose, anomaly detection algorithms based on expert knowledge or machine learning techniques can identify outliers and invalid experiments in order to ensure the validity and high quality of the resulting dataset. Finally, the verified data can be further processed and visualized for subsequent investigations.   

• During our internship, you will work on the development and implementation of anomaly detection algorithms based on expert knowledge and machine learning techniques for material tests. 
• You will implement data processing algorithms.
• Your area of responsibility also includes data visualization and good user experience via dashboards.

Qualifications

• Education: studies in the fields of Engineering, Information Technology, Natural Sciences, or comparable
• Experience and Knowledge: good coding skills, preferably Python or MATLAB; ideally first experience in data analysis, processing and visualization of experimental data
• Personality and Working Practice: communicative, structured and creative
• Enthusiasm: strong interest the field of industrial research
• Languages: very good in German and/or English

Start: according to prior agreement
Duration: 6 months
