Based in Stratford, Ontario, the Stratford Festival is one of the world’s foremost repertory theatre companies. It operates year-round, presenting a season of about a dozen plays each year between the months of April and November, a rich stream of digital content and hundreds of events designed to deepen understanding of the plays. For every person a theatregoer sees on our stages, we have seven people working behind the scenes, some of the world’s most dedicated and experienced arts workers.

This temporary full-time position reports to the Warehouse Coordinator or designate and is part of the Costume and Props team. This job will be primarily focused on the Costume side of the Costume and Props warehouse. The candidate is responsible for assisting with the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of all aspects relating to the Costume and Props Warehouse.
Responsibilities:
• Provide professional customer service to potential rental clients.
• Assist with preparation of rentals, shipping and receiving costumes and props
• Assist the Warehouse Coordinator with data entry of information related to cataloguing of costume and prop stock
• Assist Festival staff and rental customers with pulling costumes and props
• General organization of the warehouse
• Requires working on ladders for extended periods of time
• Assist in the handling of archival items
• Adhere to the Stratford Festival Health & Safety Commitment and Procedures and ensure that safe work practices and policies are supported and enforced within reporting structure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Post-secondary diploma program, typically a two year program, or equivalent, (i.e. Community college, Technical Institute or Trade School, etc.)
• 1 to 2 years of related experience
• Must have a strong knowledge of costume history.
• Computer Skills including email, excel, ability to work on an iPad and learn new computer programs
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
• Successful candidate must be able to perform strenuous physical labour, primarily lifting 35 lbs from floor to waist and above the head.
• Comfortable with working at heights
• Successful candidate should be detail oriented

This contract full-time posting is for an existing vacancy located in Stratford, Ontario and will begin February 2, 2026 until May 16, 2026. This position requires the candidate to work onsite. (Regular work hours for this position are Monday to Friday, but may require the candidate to work holiday and weekend hours as scheduled.
Job Type: Contract Full-Time
Hourly Rate: $22.08 - $25.98
