A day in the life:
As a Full Stack Developer, you will work closely with a small technical team to develop and maintain web interfaces and backend systems for various Department of Defense and commercial projects. You will contribute to all aspects of the development lifecyle from designing user interfaces to implementing scalable backend solutions. Your expertise in Java and Python will be essential in driving the success of our projects.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Develop and maintain web interfaces using ReactJS and other relevant technologies.
- Implement backend functionalities using Java, Python, and Ruby on Rails, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Utilize databases like Postgres and SQL for data storage, retrieval, and manipulation.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance application functionality.
- Conduct thorough testing to identify and fix bugs, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Optimize application performance and ensure responsiveness.
- Document technical specifications, system architecture, and development processes.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
What you bring to the table:
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role
- A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant discipline
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and/or Ruby on Rails
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
- Ability to work effectively in small technical teams and independently when necessary
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A Sec+ certification, or the ability to obtain a Sec+ certification before starting the work
- Must be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph level security clearance
Bonus Skills:
- A current level of security clearance is desired (ie a Secret level of clearance or higher)
- Sec+ certification
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
