This position will report to the Engineering Project Management Superintendent.

The Project Manager (Sr Project Engineer) is accountable for leading the development, planning, and field execution of a portfolio of projects ranging from $250k - $5 million. You will have overall responsibility to ensure work is carried out in a safe manner, on time, and within budget while fulfilling all applicable technical requirements of Nutrien’s Geismar facility.

 

What you will do:

• Provide overall Project Management following Nutrien’s stage gated Project Management Process from project scope development through to commissioning and startup
• Makes independent decisions on work methods and procedures within project scope
• Project Controls focus preparing budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans for multi-discipline resources, incorporating best practices in cost control, risk analysis, and schedule stewardship
• Manage and control projects to ensure objectives are met in an economical and timely manner, and applicable standards, procedures, and quality control requirements are either developed or met as required
• Ensure management of change processes are adhered to and proper documentation is recorded to align with Process Safety Management requirements

 

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
• Five plus (5+) years of experience in project management at a chemical facility or a heavy industrial site
• A proven appreciation for, and a demonstrated capability in the application of advanced methods of data collection, data analysis, and engineering/construction progress reporting
• PMP certification preferred
• Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card
• Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams of engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel
• Ability to work with stakeholders to resolve business case, scoping, planning and project execution issues
