Sr. Cost Engineer

We are currently seeking a Sr. Cost Engineer to support the organization in all vehicle manufacturing commodities. The Cost Engineer will play a key role in providing product costs, process costs and cost driver analysis. This will ensure accurate, plausible cost estimates for piece cost and tooling. The cost estimates will be used to support commercial negotiations and BOM deliverables.
You Will:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to provide defendable cost estimates across all Lucid Platforms at various development stages.
- Use your technical knowledge of product and process cost to provide feedback on supplier quotations.
- Take initiative in leading projects, implementing necessary corrective actions, proposing innovative solutions, and seeking support as needed.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively steer project teams and maintain clarity amidst changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Collect and maintain key cost driver data, including raw materials, production labor, machine rates, process parameters, SG&A, and R&D costs.
- Support in establishing cost targets and data for Business Development.
You Bring:
- Curiosity: This position will require building-from-scratch thinking in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of cost drivers and different manufacturing processes.
- BS/BA degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing costing including but not limited to: Electronics, PCBA, Harnesses, Injection Molding, Stamping, Casting, and Assemblies.
- Expertise in Excel-based modeling
- Strong written, verbal, organizational and program management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and deliver precise cost assessments to stakeholders.
- Be a proactive self-starter comfortable navigating dynamic work environments with shifting priorities.
- Effective in engaging and collaborating across different departments.
- Experience in the Automotive Industry is ideal.
This is full-time Monday-Friday on-site at our headquarters in Southfield, Michigan OR Newark, CA
