About the role

Duties and Responsibilities: 

· Operates packaging equipment according to product specifications and ensuring accuracy in weights and codes. Adjusts machines as required 

· Maintains proper documentation of downtime and repairs. Performs minor repairs and routine maintenance work on equipment 

· Continually checks the quality of the product, packaging, and case printing according to standard operating procedures and policies. Responsible for reporting any issues or concerns to Supervisor, as needed 

· Inspects and conducts regular deep cleaning of equipment after each product change. 

· Maintains cleanliness of equipment at all times 

· Operates in accordance with health, safety and fire prevention regulations and practices, and standard operating procedures 

· Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation 

· Other duties, as assigned 

  

Education and Experience Required: 

· Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed 

· Able to respond to alarms and resolve problems in a timely manner 

· Able to work well with teammates and communicate with all employees with respect and courtesy 

  

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: 

· High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution 

· Previous experience operating machines 

· Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility 

  

Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: 

· Must be able to balance, stand, walk, and work in high heat/humidity for 12+ hours per shift 

· Must be able to perform simple grasping for 12+ hours per shift 

· Must be able to lift up-to 34 pounds for 12+ hours per shift 

· Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, and work in a dusty environment for 10+ hours per shift 

· Must be able to push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 10+ hours per shift 

· Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds for 10+ hours per shift 

· Must be able to kneel, sit, reach above shoulders, and climb/work off ladder for 6+ hours per shift 

· Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, distinguish objects and equipment visually, and express or exchange ideas by spoken or written word
