About the Role
Entry level professional individual contributor role. Works on problems of limited scope, following standard practices and procedures with detailed instruction on new work. Participates in project planning sessions, working closely with experienced Security Analysts, Software Architects and other team members to analyze requirements, and provide design recommendations for security of complex software systems. Consults with senior peers with goal of continually building knowledge/experience while minimizing any risk. This role shows a demonstrable interest in technological innovation with a focus on learning to apply standards, developing an understanding of the business, and advancing personal professional growth. Typically requires demonstrated engineering skills, strong mathematical skills normally evidenced by bachelor’s degree in a mathematical or related subject.
About The Team
At FIS Cleared Derivatives, we provide mission-critical software and services to institutions across the derivatives industry worldwide. As part of the Capital Markets Division of FIS, Cleared Derivatives addresses the needs of global sell-side and buy-side clients with the industry leading software solutions and services for post-trade processing of listed derivative (ETDs) and cleared OTC instruments. You will join a team of technology engineers and architects focused on product development of derivatives processing solutions and market risk.
What You Will Be Doing
• Employ Threat Modeling to create and enhance security within products
• Assess security conditions on devices such as web servers, application servers, containers, databases, and storage : both on-premise and in the public cloud
• Evaluates, codes and implements software fixes (patches) to address system vulnerabilities such as malicious code (e.g. viruses), system exploitation using SQL injection, cross-site scripting, buffer overflows, parameter tampering, hidden field manipulation, cookie poisoning and web services manipulation.
• Conducts security assessments of systems and applications using penetration tests, ethical hacking tools and risk assessment mediation methodologies to evaluate vulnerabilities.
• Analyze and extract insights from internal and external data
• Work with programming languages such as Java, Python, Scala, SQL, Angular/TypeScript
• Work independently and collaborate with other groups to solve complex problems
• Create and present analyses to internal and external partners and clients
• Document threat models and track product adherence
• Other related duties assigned as needed
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study like Computer Science or CyberSecurity
- Excellent understanding of technology infrastructures using firewalls, VPN, security audits, code vulnerabilities, OWASP, container security, CI/CD
- Experience with SBOM, SAST and DAST tools like Checkmarx, CxOne, SysDig, Rapid7
- Meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluent in English; Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptability, a drive to learn, self-starter
- Ability to work well independently and within a team
Bonus If You Have
- Service Mesh experience a plus
- Master’s degree in Cyber Security
- Expertise in SQL, Java or Scala, Microservices architecture
