About the role

F&G is looking to hire for a Manager, Business Optimization

The Manager, Business Optimization is responsible for leading efforts to solve challenges and implement solutions that enable the successful execution of initiatives within the Retail organization that result in desired outcomes and capturing unrealized value. This role will independently lead the design, development, and execution of comprehensive optimization strategies for teams and large-scale initiatives across the Retail organization and consult with leaders to create and align desired strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply proven methods to lead the execution of strategy and activities for initiative optimization.
  • Develop, maintain and enhance business optimization tools and processes.
  • Align with project leaders to integrate business optimization activities into portfolio, program, and project management methodology.
  • Consult with leaders and project team members to identify opportunities for complex business optimization initiatives.
  • Drive the development and implementation of actionable deliverables, including but not limited to consulting, facilitation, coaching, communication, continuous improvement, strategy, adoption, ways of working, and leadership alignment.
  • Design and conduct assessments to ensure readiness for a variety of optimization efforts impacting people, processes, technology, strategy, or other key business functions.
  • Drive adoption of maturing organizational practices including strategic planning, portfolio prioritization/sequencing, etc.
  • Apply understanding of business strategy to ensure alignment and effective sequencing and results of operational plans and initiatives.
  • Apply strong working knowledge of business initiatives to identify potential risks dependencies, or points of resistance.
  • Lead efforts to partner with leadership, Change Enablement, Human Resources, and Corporate Communications to develop and execute plans to mitigate or address concerns.
  • Develop and maintain trusted and highly effective working relationships with key leaders and partners across the organization. Provide consulting and coaching to help increase organizational capability for optimization and improvement. Educate and enable business and project team leaders in deploying optimization principles and best practices.
  • Provide informal leadership and coaching to Retail team members. Drive efforts to educate business leaders and partners on the business optimization discipline and increase overall organizational capability for improvement.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Leadership & Organizational Development, Engineering, or other related field required, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years progressive experience in business improvement and performance excellence/measurement projects, business management, and/or optimization leadership.
  • Consulting experience in a large, strategic consultancy or firm specializing in business optimization, continuous improvement, and/or strategy strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge and demonstrated application of business optimization and/or continuous improvement principles, practices, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a variety of different individuals including executive leadership and those in individual contributor roles.
  • Exceptional presentation, facilitation, written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop compelling messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment, with proven ability to build strong relationships and deliver effective consulting and coaching.
  • Impeccable degree of integrity and ability to handle confidential matters and sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Ability to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Proficient with business productivity tools (e.g., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint)
