Summary
As a Legal Assistant 2 with the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review, you will play an important part in helping resolve appeals at the Philadelphia Referee Office. This position allows you to support hearings, manage case records, and assist with legal procedures. You will help ensure due process by organizing documents and communicating with claimants, employers, and attorneys. This position supports Referee staff by preparing appeals, organizing case materials, and assisting with hearings and decisions. It requires accuracy, organization, and strong communication skills. As a Legal Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Hearing Preparation: Review appeals, organize exhibits, and prepare notices and schedules
- Case Management: Maintain electronic and paper case files and distribute documents to appropriate parties
- Decision Support: Transcribe and prepare decisions and confirm that all issues and findings are addressed
- Public Contact: Respond to calls, emails and visitors and provide accurate information about appeals procedures
- Document Processing: Upload hearings, proofread legal documents, and input information into tracking systems
- Timekeeping Assistance: Review time records, identify errors, and ensure accurate entries in required systems

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours may be negotiable.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after successful completion of training. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Legal Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
