Who is Hanna?

Hanna Interpreting Services LLC is a language services provider that offers in person, video, over-the-phone, and written options for translation, interpretation, ADA remediation, transcription, language assessments, voice over, and website localization.

Founded in 2010 by mother and son duo Jennifer Hanna and Tom Elias Hanna in their garage in San Diego, CA, Hanna has grown to more than 70 employees, served over 1 million non-English speakers to date in 200+ languages, and has sponsored countless outreach events to serve the local community.

Whether a healthcare provider needs an interpreter to help during an emergency or an organization needs to translate their website in multiple languages – they call us because we have the experience and the relationships to make their jobs easier.

Position Overview:

The Business Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in streamlining and optimizing the operations across our Administration, Accounting, Finance, HR, and Learning and Engagement Departments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of operational best practices, an analytical mindset, and the ability to lead diverse teams to achieve organizational objectives.

Reports to: VP of Operations

Compensation: $66,560 - $70,000 p/year, DOE

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Excellence:

- Oversee day-to-day operations across the specified departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

- Monitor operational performance and make necessary adjustments to processes, resources, and workflows to achieve optimal efficiency.

2. Strategic Leadership:

- Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement strategies and goals.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all departments.

3. Financial Oversight:

- Work closely with the Finance and Accounting departments to monitor budgets, ensure cost-effectiveness, and forecast operational expenses.

- Implement, track, and measure initiatives and strategies for all AR, AP, and Biling components.

- Identify potential areas of cost-saving and revenue growth.

4. Human Resources & Engagement:

- Partner with HR to ensure the recruitment, training, and retention of top talent.

- Oversee the Learning and Engagement Department to ensure the professional growth of staff and cultivate a positive organizational culture.

5. Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

- Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to ensure alignment and coherence.

- Resolve interdepartmental issues and conflicts efficiently and constructively.

6. Reporting & Analytics:

- Generate regular reports on operational performance and provide insights to senior leadership.

- Use data analytics to drive operational decisions and identify improvement areas.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in an operations management role, overseeing multiple departments.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Familiarity with various operational software and tools (Prefer: Quickbooks Online, ADP, and Hubspot).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive efficiency and operational excellence.
