ABOUT THE JOB
The Production Technician is responsible for performing various tasks associated with the formulation and movement of product, raw materials and other commodities with minimal supervision. This position also operates formulation equipment to maximize output.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Formulates raw materials into finished product that conforms to all quality control standards and completes production sheets accurately.
- Performs system cleanouts and product changeover between production campaigns.
- Operates material handling equipment in the warehouse and production area to retrieve and deliver raw materials, packaging and finished products to and from the warehouse.
- Loads/unloads trucks and railcars, completes related paperwork and follows sampling procedures for raw material deliveries.
- Maintains a clean and organized production area at all times by disposing of trash, sweeping and/or washing down daily or as instructed.
- Completes all production paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Complies with all specified quality assurance (QA) methods and documentation.
- Performs QA tests including pH and density.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two years of work experience is required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to use various types of equipment to perform all functions of the formulation, packaging, loading and unloading process.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in extreme hot and/or cold temperatures.
- Forklift experience preferred but will train.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
- Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
- Valid U.S. driver's license is required and must meet all company requirements to drive a Helena vehicle.
- Applicants for positions requiring operation of a moving vehicle or interaction with heavy equipment must meet legal age requirement.
Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

The work environment for this position is a warehouse/outdoor environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud and occasionally very loud. In this position, you will work outdoors in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. When working in the warehouse, you will regularly work around moving equipment/mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock.
