Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Communications team at Arthrex is growing and we are actively searching for a Global Business Journalist.   This position will be located on our corporate campus in Naples, FL.  Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.

 

Main Objective:

The Global Business Journalist will support content development for corporate communications initiatives, using compelling and authentic storytelling focused on business-related topics and key priorities of the company. This role requires creative concepting, enterprise reporting and strong writing skills, with the ability to seek and develop internal and external stories across the company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Deliver creative enterprise reporting that educates and inspires internal audiences about the global business successes of the company.
• Identify, research and execute business-related feature stories with a high level of urgency.
• Serve the National Sales organization with strategic content development and editing for various internal and external communications.
• Aggregate and edit weekly content for Global Business News section of the global employee intranet, ensuring representation from all global regions.
• Support global partners with content development and editing for various global communications.
• Support global communications campaigns with the development of content that meets established goals and strategies.
• Develop business-related content that showcases Arthrex’s culture and mission and drives awareness and employee engagement.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, internal stakeholders and industry experts to identify, research and execute story opportunities that align with overall business objectives.
• Engage in interviews with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Proofread and edit written pieces prior to publication; navigate all projects and tasks through the appropriate approval processes.
• Serve cross-functional roles within Corporate Communications as needed or assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in communications, journalism or related field
• 3 years of writing experience required, preferably in journalism
• Experience working with or on a Communications or Marketing team in a corporate environment
• Medical device industry experience preferred

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

• Knowledge of AP Style in professional writing
• Must be editorially strong, creative and resourceful with a demonstrated aptitude for storytelling
• Strong business acumen with ability to incorporate insights from the business into content creation and overall creative output
• Established track record of creating high-volume, high-quality content from start to finish.
• Deadline- and detail-oriented with strong initiative and the ability to learn quickly and manage multiple projects/processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, working successfully with cross-functional teams
• Working knowledge of regulatory, compliance and legal regulations and considerations when writing for the medical device industry is a plus.

• Macintosh or PC platform
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)
