Platform Infrastructure Automation builds software that brings ServiceNow instances to life and manages their journey on our Clouds. We write software that works across tens of data centers and tens of thousands of servers around the world. Reliability and Performance are utmost important in everything we do. We use a combination of Java, JavaScript and ServiceNow platform to achieve this. We continue to evolve our platform to use newer methodologies.

What you get to do in this role:     

• Design and develop cloud automations to support the deployment and management of ServiceNow Platform/Products in our own infrastructure as well as Public Clouds 
• Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)  
• Work with the product owners/customers to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users.  
• Implement software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs  
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite  
• Creating automations that manage thousands or servers and terabytes of data. 
• Work as a member of our developer team that scales our automation to meet the needs of the future 
• Mentor other engineers 

To be successful in this role you have:  

• Experience in object-oriented design and backend programming (Java, JavaScript, Python and/or Golang)  
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations  
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline   
• Analytical and design skills  
• Experience with agile development tools and practices 
• Enjoy working at systems level (below application) and close to the OS 
• Problem solving skills that you can apply to simplify the complexity and achieve scale  
• Energy and drive to demonstrate ownership and deliver results 

Nice to have:  

• Experience with ServiceNow Platform  
• Knowledge of private and public cloud environments  

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience with Java or similar OO language  
• Experience with Java and object-oriented programming
