About the Opportunity:
Oxford Instruments is seeking a Field Process Engineer to support the installation, optimization, and customer acceptance of plasma processing systems within semiconductor and advanced materials industry. This role is critical in ensuring our plasma processing tools meet customer specifications, supporting troubleshooting, and providing training. The ideal candidate will have a strong semiconductor process engineering and solid knowledge of software systems for service management, deployment, and programming skills, technical problem-solving skills, and experience working with plasma etch and deposition systems in a very fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Performance & Acceptance:
- Oversee process validation and qualification of plasma systems at customer sites
- Validate tool performance at customer sites to meet acceptance specifications
- Optimizing etching, deposition, or other plasma-related processes to achieve customer goals
- Collaborate with customers to ensure system performance aligns with their operational requirements
- Drive successful system acceptance and troubleshooting as needed
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide process support to customer service teams and engineers
- Provide process expertise and troubleshooting support for installed plasma tools
- Work collaboratively with customer service, field engineers, and factory teams to diagnose and resolve process-related challenges
- Diagnose and resolve technical process issues across a suite of process tools
- Participate in tool escalations, leveraging technical expertise to resolve critical issues
- Support process escalations and technical investigations to drive solutions and root cause analysis
- Training & Documentation:
- Deliver on-site process training to customers and field engineers
- Document and communicate process parameters, troubleshooting guidelines, and best practices to internal teams and customers
- Develop and refine process recipes based on customer applications and requirements.
- Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to implement process improvements
- Provide feedback for system design enhancements to improve tool reliability and process performance
- Stay up to date with industry trends and semiconductor process advancements to drive innovations
About the Candidate:
The Right Candidate will be a self-starting, diligent and enthusiastic team player, who is able to work independently and manage their own time. The FPE should be highly innovative and have good lateral thinking skills for identifying opportunities for technology development applications and is focused on excellent customer service. You will have proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize semiconductor processes and excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to train and support customers
