AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Orlando, FL office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide administrative and operations support.
Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
Prepare assigned sections of reports working under the review of a more experienced professional.
Collect and analyze data using established procedures and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
Participate in conducting on-site engineering investigations. Travel to other states may be required, on occasion.
Travel to client sites for investigations up to 50%.
Assist Senior Engineers in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
Participate on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; assist in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observe construction procedures and collect samples for quality control testing.
Develop engineering calculations under the supervision of senior structural engineers.
Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
Candidate must have a valid US driver’s license.
Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years experience in a related technical field.
EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026). A focus in structures is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
