Position Description & Overview:
The School of Health Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to teach a Food Service Management course for Fall semester 2026. The meeting times are Tuesday and Thursdays 10:20 AM – 12:10PM. The Fall 2026 semester runs from August 31st until December 18th, 2026.
General Course descriptions:
This Graduate Level course examines the principles and practices of foodservice management within healthcare, educational, community, and commercial foodservice settings. Students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to manage foodservice systems that deliver safe, high-quality, cost-effective, and nutritionally appropriate meals. Topics include menu planning, procurement, production, distribution systems, food safety and sanitation, quality improvement, financial management, human resources, regulatory compliance, sustainability, and leadership. Through case studies, simulations, and applied projects, students learn to integrate evidence-based management strategies to improve operational efficiency and enhance client and patient outcomes while meeting organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
Effective teaching strategies involving lab and lecture components that promote positive student learning are required. Duties include delivering lecture and laboratory instruction in a classroom setting, organizing labs, providing the students a comprehensive syllabus, administering exams, and grading students’ assignments. Dedication to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of microbiology is expected.
Qualifications:
At least two years of college teaching experience is required of candidates applying as well as a Registered Dietician and a Masters Degree. Compensation
Minimum: $5,000 per 4-credit course
Minimum: $3,750 per lab section
The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
