Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Senior Principal Software Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. 

What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Synthesize software requirements into verification requirements, software test objectives, success criteria, and required resources for system-level tests and demonstrations.
  • Execution and reporting on system level testing.
  • Participate in internal and customer software test planning working groups.
  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment specific to software.
  • Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, testing houses, software development engineers and other stakeholders involved in the testing process.
  • Review software test plans, procedures, and reports, witness testing as the Cognizant Engineer
  • Participate in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with customers (internal/external) and contributing to a broad range of program deliverables.
  • Identify, analyze, and adjudicate software deficiencies
  • Design, develop, and maintain software test plans, software test reports, and software test procedures in compliance with program functional, technical, and performance requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Senior Principal Engineer Software: 08 Years with Bachelors in relevant field of study; 06 Years with Masters or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of experience with customer facing, technical presentations
  • 4+ years of experience related to test planning, development, execution, or reporting
  • Experience with Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA)
  • Familiarity with software testing process for DoD products/projects
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • U.S. Citizen and Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience operating in an agile work environment
  • Experience as a scrum master and/or product owner
  • Experience with the Jira and Confluence
  • Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with distributed version control software (eg Git, Mercurial, SubVersion, etc)
