Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provides technical support of information systems critical to the operation of the Shafer Library.
• Supports user access to electronic library resources.
• Explains the use of computer system and other reference sources to students/faculty.
• Maintains and updates web-based content, including library web pages and web guides in support of a full range of library information discovery tools and services.
• Responds to and resolves user access problems with trouble shooting measures for both locally and remotely hosted databases and e-resources available through the library.
• Assists students in locating materials on the shelf and on-line, as well as through interlibrary loan.
• Circulates and maintains library and audio-visual materials and equipment.
• Sorts and places new and returned materials and equipment to shelf/storage.
• Answers the telephone, type and files as necessary.
• Catalogues and processes materials for Shafer Library.
• Provides orientation to the Library and services for students and faculty in the absence or at the request of the Library Coordinator or Director.
• Provides inter-library loan service to students/faculty.
• Gathers and reports library statistics as assigned.
The above listed functions require various degrees of independence, judgment and discretion, and the ability to be mobile in the office and/or work area.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate degree
• Two (2) years of related experience in a customer-facing library work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Two (2) years of related experience in a digital library work environment.
