The Strategic Sourcing Director is responsible for leading highly visible and complex negotiations to completion. Building and maintaining relationships at all levels of the org, including the executive committee.
Areas of cross functional partnerships and procurement execution involve HR, Legal, Market Data, Global Financial Crimes, Risk, Front Office, Professional Services. Key responsibilities include (1) Partnering with business stakeholders, early involvement with front end intake, kickoff meetings to establish owners for risk management and sourcing, expense and cost center linkages and key business requirements. These “Service Requests” will become Sourcing Projects based on risk level and spend threshold (2) The Sourcing Director will align the Service Requests to the sourcing team based on certain criteria (tactical vs. strategic). (3) The Director will advise, coach, support, and also lead the successful execution of sourcing projects, ultimately with a focus to devise and execute strategies including but not limited to; Core Term Remediation, RFI/RFP, auction, benchmarks, and other business related and negotiation methods that result in best protection for Risk, Financial, and Service Performance measures.
Responsibilities
Director Strategy Development & Execution:
Expert and co-developer of a comprehensive strategic sourcing strategy for various contracts/vendors in alignment with defined business objectives
Lead the end-to-end sourcing process and facilitate analysis and collaboration of a cross-functional team, leveraging market/industry insights to make strategic recommendations
Develop negotiation strategy and lead negotiations to maximize total value and minimize risk
Achieve cost savings, avoidance, working capital improvements as a result of negotiations
RFx/Contract management utilizing Ariba
Lead and execute on strategy to deliver maximum value (Annual Objectives & Key Results)
Understand business partner’s objectives and business drivers and integrate into the Sourcing Strategy with input from key stakeholders
Help drive and influence business alignment and behaviors that are consistent with procurement policy and procedures
Stakeholder / Vendor Relationship Management & Integration:
Build and maintain value-measured relationships with key stakeholders to drive sustained results while ensuring strategies remain in alignment with business goals
Conduct regular business reviews with key vendors to ensure compliance with contract deliverables
Market Research & Analysis:
Provide full and accurate category “market intelligence” by leading and performing in-depth analysis, understanding market drivers, and cost structures across the category level
Maintain industry and market awareness trends through research and networking
Create commodity or vendor specific sourcing strategies to optimize the supply base, diversity spending and total cost of ownership
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and typically 15 plus years of relevant experience
HR, Legal, Marketing, Market Data, Financial Crimes Risk Mitigation, Staff Augmentation, Talent Acquisition, Professional Services, and other Bank Shared Services
MBA or advanced degree in related discipline preferred
