Summary
ATI Forged Products is seeking an Off-Shift Machining Supervisor for our Coon Valley, WI facility. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing, supporting, and training assigned hourly personnel in machining operations to ensure the production of high-quality components—delivered safely, on time, and in a cost-effective manner.
This is a weekend shift position operating from Friday morning through Sunday evening, with 12-hour shifts. The Supervisor will rotate between day and night shifts on weekends. Exact hours are flexible and can be adjusted based on operational needs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Directly supervises hourly employees and the corresponding machining units. Responsibilities include review of work instructions with employees as necessary and the assignment of manpower and equipment to support customer delivery requirements.
- Provide training to assigned hourly employees when necessary. Examples: New machines and controllers, new tooling, or when employee requires review of machine operation due to transferring.
- Coordinate maintenance repairs for planned and unplanned equipment downtime.
- Collect on a daily basis all data necessary to compile piece counts, hours running, set-up and downtime.
- Support shift reporting via Syteline and EOS communications.
- Communicate on a daily basis with Production Control and Tool Engineering to assure that required materials, prints, and tooling are established.
- Provide information and assist Facilities Engineering, Tool Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering in the investigation and implementation of cost reductions, process improvements, and tooling tryouts.
- Provide information and assist NOD corrective action investigation. Implement corrective action as necessary.
- Assure compliance to ATI Cudahy Operations quality requirements through application of AS9100 systemic procedures and work instructions.
- Promote employee involvement in Safety problem solving and cost reduction efforts.
- Ensure the highest level of safety and good housekeeping in work environment through implementation of the ATI Coon Valley Operations Safety Program and personal example.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, DNR and other federal, state, and local regulator agencies.
- Ensure harmonious relations between employees and management through consistent application of site-specific rules and company policies. Participate in employee Relations procedures and administer approved disciplinary measures as directed
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years’ machining experience
- High School Education
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Machinist Card or 3+ years technical training
- College Level courses in Machining
- Prior supervisory experience
Essential Skills
- Blueprint reading
- Ability to edit and understand CNC programs
- Machining knowledge of turning equipment
- Communication and Troubleshooting skills
