Our Cybersecurity Technical Solutions and Emerging Technology team is seeking a Software Developer for Security Tools. This position is remote with very infrequent travel to other Raytheon locations.
Job Summary:
The cybersecurity software development position is an individual contributor working with a team of developers maturing solutions within the Raytheon portfolio. You will partner with Raytheon Global Security Service (GSS) counterparts across the business working closely with Digital Technology partners to ensure alignment to facilitate requirements and automate where possible.
The Cybersecurity Tool Software Developer is part of an agile team developing applications in alignment with Raytheon leadership to create new capabilities on existing software applications as well as create new applications. This position requires require experience with database management, data models, as well as several programming languages. We seek innovative and team oriented candidates with keen judgment and highly effective coding skills.
This role is a remote position and will require regular alignment with tasking within a DevOps framework. As noted, Infrequent travel may be necessary to Raytheon locations. You will report to the Cybersecurity Technical Solutions and Emerging Technologies Cybersecurity Architect Team Leads.
What you will Do:
As the cybersecurity software tools developer you are ready to perform as a key contributor, or seasoned leader, within a major software development program. You may also oversee, plan, or review the work of others.
- Develop robust and scalable software running on a variety of computing platforms using Agile development methods.
- Actively participate in code reviews and configuration management and release
- Provide feedback to other team members based on review of their work.
- Support or lead software integration and verification activities.
- Work in a team environment with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and translate these into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.
- Provides strategic leadership direction with ability to shape and drive technological innovation in supported areas.
Qualifications you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems Management, Information Technology, STEM, or other degrees will be considered with 5 years of software development experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of software development experience
- Five (5) years of software development experience using any of the following coding languages: C#, C++, Java (including JavaScript)
- Experience with assessing and authorizing information systems
- Experience with DevSecOps tooling like MS Azure and JIRA
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications we prefer:
- Experience with SQL, CSS, SharePoint, ASP.Net, HTML
- Experience in Agile development methods including Scrum, automated testing, and continuous integration.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with a breadth of software tools, such as git, CMake, Eclipse, Rational Rhapsody, Visual Studio, Selenium, etc.
- Familiarity
- with Raytheon locations and Information System practices and landscape
- Ability to tailor technical discussion to various audiences.
- Understanding of various software development architectural framework methodologies (i.e. Layered, Event-Tier, Microkernel, etc.)
- Experience understanding and implementing compliance regulations such as DFARS, DAAPM, JASIG, ICD, FAA, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, and/or other government regulations/requirements
