Wieland is hiring an Engineering Co-Op.  This role is located in East Alton, IL , and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Engineering Co-Op Responsibilities:

• Assist area Engineers in the support of plant operations
  • Work with Operations personnel to assess equipment performance and determine the need for engineering intervention
  • Assist Maintenance in problem-solving activities
  • Conduct field investigations and prepare reports for problems, issues, and resolutions
  • Work with Vendors and Contractors to source and execute jobs
• Participate in and lead improvement activities
  • Safety Excellence
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Kata problem-solving
  • Lean Manufacturing
• Assist in the management and execution of projects
  • Develop and manage projects from concept to completion, including maintaining control of project expenditures to avoid cost overruns, supervision of contractors and vendors, and maintaining control of project schedule
  • Develop detailed and thorough scope of work for projects

Engineering Co-Op Qualifications:

• Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
• General mechanical aptitude
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• High degree of personal initiative
• Excellent organization and planning skills to work well in a team environment and a diverse culture
