Overview:

Pembina US Corporation's Channahon, IL office is currently recruiting for a Sr. Environmental Advisor to support Pembina Gas Infrastructure (PGI) Pipeline activities within the environmental and regulatory disciplines. Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory & Environment for US Operations, part of the External Affairs Service Unit.  Depending on the location of the successful candidate, remote work may be an option. 

 

The External Affairs Service Unit brings together Land, Communications and Government Relations to provide essential services to projects and to ongoing Pembina business.  In addition to this group effectively mobilizes project support across while ensuring proper governance and controls are in place.

 

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team responsible for the management of environmental and regulatory compliance as it relates to permit compliance for U.S. assets. This position is responsible for ensuring that U.S. Pembina assets have the necessary resources, tools and information to comply with environmental permits and regulations and operate in an environmentally responsible manner.
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
  • Permit Compliance - Ensure that operating and Title V permit requirements are understood and followed through procedures.  Ensure that required data is retained and required notifications and reporting completed;
  • Annual Emission Report (AER) - Compile data, calculate emissions, prepare, and submit an AER to the agency;
  • Deviation Reports - Provide notifications to the agency as required for all plant permit deviations.  Assist Operations personnel in conducting investigations into the causes of such deviations and submit follow-up written reports to the agency;
  • Emissions Testing/Monitoring - Select contractor and schedule and coordinate testing with Operations.  This will include annual tuning and testing of gas turbines and any other testing that may be required;
  • Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) - Coordinate required testing with contractor and Alliance Operations & Maintenance. Prepare and submit semi-annual reports and have a good understanding of NSPS regulations;
  • Assist with the development of the corporate GHG emissions inventory in accordance with applicable inventory methodologies;
  • Support third-party GHG emissions inventory verification and assurance activities;
  • Support and utilize the company Emissions Data Management Solution including maintenance of data quality, data receipt and data management;
  • Support GHG emissions reporting and other environmental regulatory requirements;
  • Monitor emerging GHG and air policies and regulations and assess impacts;
  • Oversee waste disposal activities at each facility to maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations;
  • Interface with representatives from multiple business units and service units;
  • Manage projects, third-party consultants, schedules, and budgets as necessary; and
