Supply Distribution Technician Senior - Full Time - Days

Orders stocked medical supplies to maintain inventory levels utilizing designated inventory management system. Delivers, stows and rotates medical supplies to inventory and par locations. Communicates recommendations of par level changes to Manager / Supervisor of Supply Chain and or Sterile Processing.

 

Orders stocked medical supplies to maintain inventory levels utilizing designated inventory management system. Delivers, stows and rotates medical supplies to inventory and par locations. Communicates recommendations of par level changes to Manager / Supervisor of Supply Chain and or Sterile Processing.

 

Receives incoming phone calls from Sterile Processing and OR staff and distributes requested supply items. Ensures stock requests are filed with our Distributor, to accommodate large surges in item use.

 

Ensures all items stocked within the inventory area are rotated. Removes any expiring product from shelves prior to its expiration. Performs monthly area checks to ensure only serviceable products are stocked. Keep supply areas clean and organized.

 

Researches new items to be added to Sterile Processing supplies, either for temporary substitutes due to MFG stock outs, or due to item inactivation based on sparse ordering.

 

Reviews breast implant cases with the OR staff to ensure the delivery of implants and sizers not on consignment or in case of a large amount needed. 

 

Counts and reviews all Vascular Grafts kept in the OR. By making sure the appropriate paperwork for the implants are received from purchasing, with all necessary documentation, and then orders them for replenishment using our ordering software.

 

Picks selected Implants and stages them 2 days in advance of the surgery date. Ensures that implant records are received from Purchasing, and sends the pertaining information to replace those implants after the surgery, through our ordering software.

 

Maintains multiple supply carts for the OR’s, including adding items to them and restocking them as they are needed. 

 

Requests for Lawson numbers, for new products added to Sterile Processing inventory, mobile carts, and par locations.

 

 Assists Materials Clerks with the daily tasks as needed, including pulling of emergency cases, custom packs and distribution of other goods housed in Surgical Supply Inventory.

 

Checks products in all areas for outdates, and removes them and replaces them, along with contacting Sales Reps for replacement of consignment items.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma 

 

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 3 years in Supply Chain

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with supply distribution tasks. Familiarity with sterile processing and required elements to sterilize and distribute instrumentation to the OR’s, moderate computer and excel knowledge, along with database programs knowledge and or experience. Customer service and typing skills are a must.
