Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is currently hiring a Senior Echocardiographer for the Noninvasive Lab in Norfolk, VA.

Job Description:

• Performs two dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities.

• Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.

• Provides leadership to support department with respect to staffing schedule, accreditation, staff education or other duties as defined by management.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (Associate's or Bachelor's in Cardiovascular Technology) OR a High School Diploma along with significant experience will be considered in lieu of education, in accordance with IAC Guidelines.

• License/Certification: Candidates must have at least one of the following four certifications: RDCS, RCCS, RCS, or ACS.

• Experience: 3 years experience in Echocardiography required.

Candidates must have at least one of the four certifications (RDCS, RCCS, RCS, or ACS)

Qualifications:

ALD - Associate's Level Degree: Cardiovascular Technology, BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree: Cardiovascular Technology, HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)

Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) - Certification - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Certifications - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) - Certifications - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Certifications - Inteleos Inc American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
