Schedule Details/Additional Information:

  • Full-time, 2nd shift
  • (schedule could be either 3 12-hour shifts or 2 12-hour shifts plus 2 8-hour shifts) 12-hour start times are 7am, 8am or 9am
  • 8-hour start times are 10am, 11am or noon
  • Friday night and Saturday morning rotation is required
  • 1 holiday a year on call is required

Pay Range

$21.45 - $32.20

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist RNs with daily patient care including hygiene, mobility, feeding, and general comfort.
  • Perform technical tasks such as:
    • Arterial sheath removal
    • Foley catheter insertion/removal
    • Arterial blood draws and ACT testing
    • IV insertion, care, and removal
    • Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
    • 12-lead EKGs and phlebotomy
  • Monitor and report patient status, including vital signs, intake/output, and procedure site checks.
  • Respond to urgent patient needs and follow emergency protocols until RN arrives.
  • Document patient care and observations accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Prepare rooms for admissions/discharges and assist with patient transport and post-mortem care as needed.

Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification:

  • Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of acute patient care experience as a Nursing Assistant.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Completion of telemetry education and unit-based clinical training within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in English and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
