Position Information: NWHSU is excited to announce an open position for a Foot Levelers Chiropractic Clinical Resident in our Human Performance Center (HPC). The resident will serve as an orthotics liaison for Foot Levelers on campus, lead research projects, and offer guidance to clinical interns in the HPC. We are seeking an individual who has a passion for advancing the field of orthotics, dedicated to student learning and success, and collaborates well with others.

This is a benefits eligible position, working 30 hours per week. The duration of this residency is expected to be one year with the option of renewal for a second year. Due to the nature of the position some late afternoons, early evenings and occasional Saturdays may be required.

Work Location: Bloomington, MN with flexibility to work 1-2 days per week remotely; must live local and be able to come to campus as needed

Duties:

  • Supervision of clinical interns while providing clinical services to our Human Performance constituents in the field
  • See patients, perform examinations, develop treatment plans and provide care in the public or Team Clinic
  • Leading and coordinating orthotics research projects in the HPC
  • Coordinating and educating other NWHSU departments about orthotics such as demonstrating the concept, clinical procedures, health benefits, and/or therapeutic exercises using FLI products
  • Maintain Foot Levelers scanners and rehabilitation equipment and make sure that all equipment is in good working order. Ensure that Foot Levelers displays and point of purchase materials are stocked.
  • Assist in the dispensing of orthotics to students, address any fit or function issues and assist in instructing students on the proper break-in protocols utilizing the intracell sticks, foot wheels, and other appropriate rehabilitative exercises
  • Attend Foot Levelers meetings, calls, training events and the annual session and participate in the Foot Levelers College Liaison virtual training program.

What you need to have?

  • Doctorate of Chiropractic degree
  • Active Minnesota D.C. license in good standing or qualified to obtain a Minnesota chiropractic license
  • 0-2 years of practical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related health care field
  • Experience in teaching, student supervision, and research
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 45lbs weight bars and plates
