This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located in Tallahassee Florida in Facilities Management, Bureau of Business Operations.
The mission of Facilities Management and Building Construction at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide a safe, secure, and efficient environment for staff, inmates, and visitors. This is achieved through the effective management, maintenance, and construction of correctional facilities, ensuring they meet all regulatory standards and support the department's overall mission of public safety and rehabilitation.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
This is a responsible management position that assists the Bureau Chief in a wide range of administrative, consultative, operating and reporting functions. The position is responsible for work involving the independent application of financial management concepts, principles, theory, and technical skills in accordance with sound management principles and practices.
- Manages databases for statewide projects and prepares charts and graphs.
- Monitors financial activities including allocations, funding, disbursement, reconciliation, and reporting, and trains employees on proper procedures.
- Leads the preparation of the budget request and operational plans, organizing and assembling data for budget-related tasks.
- Creates and updates spreadsheets for project budgets, organizing data for reporting and tracking.
- Reviews and prepares responses to correspondences to include grievances, requests, complaints, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Eight (8) years of similar work-related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in public administration, communications, writing or a related area and four (4) years of similar work experience
- Management experience
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in preparing reports and charts
- MFMP Experience
