Senior Research Associate 

 

This position is based in Gaithersburg, MD at research and clinical manufacturing site for BioNTech US. Both the Gaithersburg and Cambridge sites are an important part of our global efforts to pioneer the development of next-generation immune-oncology that expects to experience significant growth in the future. The site focuses on the development of novel neoantigen-targeted T cell therapies, complementing BioNTech’s highly innovative scientific approach and diversified pipeline of transformative cancer medicines.

 

We are seeking innovative, collaborative, and enthusiastic Senior Research Associate to work at sequencing in research. This role would be responsible for performing next generation sequencing and long-read sequencing. Additionally, Senior Research Associate will provide support in designing and executing experiments involved in state-of-art technological development relating to the sequencing capabilities.

 

Supporting BioNTech’s R&D Team in the US by:

  • Perform and support Gaithersburg research team with an efficient and timely execution of the 10x genomics, library preparation, sequencing, and QC.
  • Perform normalization, pooling, and QC for next generation sequencing platforms.
  • Support DNA/RNA extraction, Whole Exome Sequencing and RNAseq library prep.
  • Perform and support technical development project for sequencing.
  • Support automation development for sequencing technologies. 
  • Assist in a general lab organization within the team, housekeeping, and lab inventory.
  • Write SOPs and provide good record keeping in eLN.

 

What you have to offer. 
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences and 2+ plus years of experience in a wet lab/next generation sequencing.
  • Hands on experience with NGS library prep and sequencing.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally.
