About the Position
- Daily Inspections: Conducts daily inspections of interior, exterior, and surrounding areas of the County Administration Center to ensure safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards.
- Custodial Duties: Performs routine and supplemental restroom and building cleaning, especially during peak usage or contractor gaps.
- Exterior Maintenance: Maintains outdoor areas by emptying trash, sweeping/blowing walkways, and removing debris from building perimeters and parking lots.
- Light Repairs: Handles minor maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs, unclogging drains, and touch-up painting.
- Supply Management: Monitors and replenishes custodial supply inventories in storerooms.
- Contract Oversight: Reviews the performance of custodial contractors and reports safety concerns to the Contract Supervisor.
- Work Order Management: Uses Archibus to create, update, and close maintenance work orders, tracking labor, materials, and job status.
- Administrative Tasks: Inputs timekeeping into Workday and maintains financial documentation like receipts to ensure audit compliance.
- Customer Service: Responds to maintenance requests and coordinates with departments to minimize operational disruptions.
- Safety & Emergency Support: Conducts fire extinguisher and building safety checks, assists in emergency response, and supports facility readiness projects.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent -AND- Three (3) years experience in commercial, governmental, institutional building, or related field.
- -OR- College or university level training in an appropriate field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required construction experience.
- Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.
Preferred ("Bonus") Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of building maintenance and facilities experience.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.
CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
