Position Details:
- Title: Data Architect
- Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, M-F, with some flexibility. *This position is ONSITE in an office setting, with 1 day remote after 90 days*
- Ideal Candidates: The ideal candidate will have 4+ years' experience in data architecture.
- Location: Gibbstown, NJ (08027)
Position Overview:
The Data Architect will be responsible for consulting with the data management team, enhancing the data warehouse, extracting data (ETL), and testing it upon completion. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of coding languages (including Python) and warehouse architecture, and Data Security. The Data Architect is expected to create a highly efficient warehouse environment that suits the data storage, modeling, and visualization needs of the company. In addition to technical expertise, we value critical soft skills and emphasize excellent customer service and teamwork.
Job Functions:
- Consult with data management teams to understand the company's overarching data requirements.
- Gather requirements and business process insights to transform data to support end-user needs.
- Design and code data warehousing system to desired specifications.
- Design, implement, and continuously expand data pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
- Extract company data for migration to the new data warehousing environment; conduct testing to validate functionality and data accuracy post-migration.
- Maintain and improve already existing processes; ensuring that data architecture is scalable and maintainable
- Collaborate with business units to design and deliver accurate, high-quality data solutions.
- Analyze data to identify potential issues within ETL pipelines, communicating findings to end-users, and proposing effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain process documentation
- Support business units for various open projects.
- Troubleshoot issues, providing maintenance and support as needed.
- Additional duties/tasks as needed/requested by management.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years’ experience of directly related experience.
- Proven work experience in ETL development and creating reports in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations database.
- Proficiency in SQL, including query performance tuning, index maintenance, and understanding of database structures.
- Experience with SQL Data Lake, Azure Data Warehouse, Cognitive Services, and Azure Machine Learning (Azure ML).
- Knowledge of various SQL data storage mechanisms and Big Data technologies
- Proficiency in coding languages, including Python, SQL, and DAX.
- Experience in warehousing architecture techniques, including MOLAP, ROLAP, ODS, DM, and EDW.
- Experience with data security practices using a combination of layered security controls: network, identity, privacy, and authorization.
- Familiarity with single sign-on (SSO) authentication using Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
- Knowledge of at least one ETL tool (i.e. TimeXtender), Azure pipeline, Synapse Analytics.
- Ability to analyze big-picture data needs for the organization.
- Travel to remote sites when required.
- Availability to be on call to provide support services during off hours as needed.
