Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to support assay development, in vitro pharmacology and ex vivo analyses across multiple therapeutic areas, including but not limited to metabolic/cardiovascular disease, oncology and inflammation. This individual will be responsible for independently designing, optimizing, and performing cell-based assays to support the discovery and development of novel therapeutics across a variety of modalities. This individual will also collaborate closely with in vivo pharmacology, translational science, and nonclinical groups to help execute on company strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the screening, characterization, and mechanism of action studies for drug candidates of various modalities, including small molecules, biologics and nucleic acids
• Independently design, optimize and execute medium-to-high throughput cell-based assays to support drug discovery/development programs
• Analyze scientific data and clearly communicate summarized data to internal Pioneering Medicines team members and other key stakeholders
• Accurately record detailed documentation of experimental results via ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook)/Benchling

Basic Requirements:

• BS with 3-5 years of experience or MSc with 2+ years of experience in Biology or related discipline in an academic or industrial research setting (preferred)
• Expertise in cell culture of immortalized cell lines, primary cells and complex cell culture models
• Experience in cell-based assay development to evaluate the pharmacology of potential therapeutic agents (e.g., small molecules, biologics, nucleic acids)
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute various in vitro and ex vivo assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry, MSD, high content image analysis, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, qPCR/ddPCR)
• Proficiency in scientific software (e.g., Excel, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo)
• Ability to operate as part of a team and work with colleagues across the organization to advance projects at all stages.
