The Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento (CRH) is a cornerstone nonprofit dedicated to serving youth and families in crisis through trauma-informed care, compassion, and evidence-based programming. We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Clinical Director to provide leadership, oversight, and vision for our clinical and residential programs.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Clinical Director is a key member of CRH’s executive leadership team and serves as the Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Head of Service. This role provides strategic and operational oversight for all programs delivering direct care to youth and families, ensuring quality, compliance, and consistency across the organization.
The Clinical Director will lead a multi-disciplinary team of managers, clinicians, and direct care staff—cultivating a culture of accountability, compassion, and excellence in service delivery. Acting as both a strategic partner and hands-on leader, this individual will shape the ongoing evolution of CRH’s programs to align with our mission, regulatory requirements, and best practices in mental health and child welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Administration
- Provide executive-level leadership in the administration and continuous improvement of CRH’s clinical and residential programs.
- Oversee program goals, outcomes, and compliance with licensing, COA, and STRTP standards.
- Serve as Head of Service for STRTP and act on behalf of the CEO as needed.
- Lead cross-departmental collaboration to strengthen program effectiveness and integration.
- Participate in program contract negotiations and ensure strategic alignment with organizational priorities.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, coach, and mentor clinical and program management staff.
- Promote professional growth through individualized development plans, training, and ongoing evaluation.
- Champion a culture of accountability, trauma-informed practice, and cultural humility across all programs.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure consistent hiring, orientation, and performance management practices.
Quality, Compliance & Fiscal Stewardship
- Oversee program quality and outcome measurement, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with Finance to develop, monitor, and manage departmental budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and accreditation standards, including COA and CCL regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts and contribute to organization-wide quality initiatives.
Community Relations & Program Development
- Represent CRH in community partnerships, networks, and collaborative initiatives.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, contract monitors, and regulatory agencies.
- Identify and implement new opportunities to expand and strengthen CRH’s continuum of care.
