About the role

Job Summary:

The Tool Crib Associate I role is responsible for the fundamental day-to-day operations of the tool storage and distribution center. This entry-level position focuses on learning the business's inventory management systems and ensuring the accurate issuance and return of tools to field and shop personnel. A typical day involves identifying specific tools, performing basic data entry, and maintaining a highly organized workspace to support production efficiency.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the daily issuance and return of tools and equipment to ensure team members have the necessary resources for project execution.

  • Performs accurate data entry into the inventory management system to track tool movement and location.

  • Master tool identification across various categories to provide quick and accurate service to internal departments.

  • Maintains a clean and organized crib environment using 5S Housekeeping Methodologies (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).

  • Assists in receiving new inventory and verifying packing slips against physical counts to maintain stock integrity.

  • Conducts basic visual inspections of returned tools for damage or wear to ensure safety compliance.

  • Supports higher-level Associates in preparing tool kits or orders for scheduled field deliveries

 

Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):

  • Demonstrated ability to identify various manual, pneumatic, and electrical tools.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and inventory tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in high-volume issuance and return environments.Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams to understand and fulfill tool requirements.
  • Willingness to learn technical troubleshooting for automated tool dispensing systems.
  • Commitment to following strict safety protocols regarding tool handling and storage

     

Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
    •  0–1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or construction-related environment.
  • Desired: 
    • Familiarity with "5S" organizational methodology.
    • Basic knowledge of material handling equipment operations
