Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park - Journey Beyond the Ordinary. Stovepipe Wells has an 80-room hotel, restaurant, bar, pool, gas station, general store, and gift shop.  Stovepipe is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Death Valley National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment.  POWDR operates Stovepipe Wells under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.

Position: Retail Team Lead

Location: Stovepipe Wells, CA.  Inside Death Valley National Park.

Job Status: Full Time, Year-Round

Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. Substantial renewable energy projects and energy efficiency upgrades will also be completed.  POWDR operates Stovepipe Wells under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service. 

Job Summary:

The Retail Inventory Specialist is responsible for overseeing the receiving process for merchandise, retail products and inventory for the General Store, Nugget Retail Store (and Gas Station.) The ideal candidate will work in the Yellow Dog technology inventory system to account for all inventory items with keen accountability and oversight. This role will support loss prevention with attention to detail.    

This position reports directly to the Retail Supervisor.  You will actively cultivate a safe, friendly, and fun work environment where outdoor adventure and environmental stewardship are embraced.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive all merchandise and ensure a timely entry into the retail inventory system and product placement on the sales floor.
• Processes functions and data with YellowDog inventory and POS Square systems with accuracy and competency.
• Oversees receiving of ordered inventory, retail soft goods, accessories, and grocery/food items. (All Retail goods).
• Complete all Invoice receiving in inventory management system to ensure timely payment to vendors. 
• Works with supply vendors to reconcile incorrect invoices or invoice discrepancies.
• Works closely with POWDR accounting to ensure invoice payment, return to vendor credits, and assists Retail Supervisor with monthly COG (Cost of Goods) analysis.
• Matches and reconciles invoicing, orders and helps to complete monthly cycle counts and annual inventory for retail inventory activities.
• Works with the Retail Supervisor to oversee discounting, product content.  
• Stocks goods, logs inventory counts into systems, and ensures correct pricing following NPS mark-up guidelines 
• Comprehends and communicates ESQ (environmental, safety and quality standards) and accountability to ensure effective and efficient teamwork.
• Works directly with Retail Management to assess the performance of products carried and ensure sell through. 
• Helps to maintain displays for inventory flow. 
• Ensures excellent customer service and efficiency.

Other Duties as Assigned:

• Assists Retail leadership as needed
• Assists with sales and floor operations when needed
• Follows Stovepipe’s “Solid Waste Landfill Diversion Procedures,” and is familiar with Stovepipe’s “Green Procurement Guidelines,” and works together with the leadership team to support implementation of these NPS requirements.

Work Location:

• Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, this position is on-site. Housing will be provided on-site.   
• A flexible schedule with commuting from Pahrump, Beatty or Las Vegas will be considered. 
• Due to the nature of our business, Stovepipe Wells Village is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
