About the role

• The Commercial Construction Manager/Estimator will oversee and execute all phases of Nivo Solar’s contracted commercial solar projects. This role is responsible for managing design optimization, cost estimation, engineering coordination, construction planning and execution, material logistics, subcontractor oversight, and regulatory compliance for projects post-sales. The incumbent will ensure project delivery aligns with Nivo’s commitment to quality and reliability, reinforcing our goal to become the most trusted brand in solar.

What you'll do

• Develop and optimize solar project designs in collaboration with engineering teams to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for contracted commercial solar projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
• Coordinate engineering efforts to ensure designs meet technical, safety, and project-specific requirements.
• Plan construction activities, including schedules, resource allocation, and logistics, to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Manage on-site construction operations, ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project plans.
• Oversee procurement, inventory, and distribution of materials to support project timelines and cost objectives.
• Identify, vet, and manage subcontractors, ensuring their performance aligns with Nivo’s quality and contractual expectations.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and permitting requirements.
• Support Nivo Solar’s mission to become the most trusted brand in solar by delivering projects with precision and dependability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction management and cost estimation, ideally in solar or renewable energy.
• Proficiency in solar system design, installation practices, and engineering principles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, subcontractors, and material logistics effectively.
• Familiarity with estimation and project management software/tools.
• Knowledge of construction-related regulations, safety standards, and permitting processes.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
