Senior Director, Operational Training

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Senior Director of Operational Training to lead and enhance our training programs across GEICO. As the Senior Director of Operational Training,you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing our Operational training programs tailored to insurance professionals. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our team members are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles and provide excellent service to our customers in this continuously evolving environment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Strategic Training Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive training strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives, with a focus on Operations New Hire and ongoing training.
- Curriculum Development:
Create and maintain a robust curriculum for Operations training, including Underwriting, Claims, Sales & Service, Centralized Services and Auto-Damage.
- Team Management
Lead a team of training professionals, including trainers and instructional designers (in some training verticals), to deliver high-quality training programs.
- Content Creation:
Oversee the creation of training materials by leading the partnership of senior leadership in Operations Training with the Corporate Learning team to act as Subject Matter Expert in creating e-learning modules, workshops, and reference materials, ensuring they are current and effective.
- Performance Metrics:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of training programs, and regularly evaluate and improve training outcomes.
- Compliance and Regulations:
Stay updated on insurance industry regulations and ensure that training programs are compliant with relevant standards and guidelines.
- Technology Integration:
Leverage technology and e-learning platforms to enhance the delivery of training programs and make them accessible to remote teams.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments, including Operations, Talent Acquisition, Leadership Development etc, to identify and anticipate training needs for the Operational Training curriculum. Host regular stakeholder meetings to keep key partners up to date on New Hire and ongoing training program and impact.
- Budget Management:
Manage the training budget efficiently, ensuring cost-effective training solutions while maintaining a high quality and impactful training experience for our Operational associates.
Qualifications:
- Experience leading large scale and cross-vertical teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or insurance certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and managing operational training programs, ideally within the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, policies, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in instructional design and e-learning technologies.
- Exceptional communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and large scale projects at one time in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align training initiatives with business objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.

- Hybrid at the Chevy Chase, MD office; Other locations being considered
